Environmental Education

Camp Zanika offers environmental educational experiences for students in public, private, and home school groups.  Our facilities are located within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, one of the most pristine forests in Washington State.  From the shores of Lake Wenatchee, our outdoor education program provides a great opportunity for teachers to take their lessons into the heart of nature.

Our friendly and trained staff will guide students through activity modules that are centered around the Washington State learning outcomes for environmental science in grades 4th through 8th.

Activity Modules cover:

  • Archery
  • Boating
  • Low Ropes (All Ages)
  • High Ropes (5th Grade and up)
  • Wildlife
  • Forestry
  • Wetland Ecology
  • Outdoor Living Skills
  • Hiking
  • and much more!

For 2 or 4 night says, students and chaperones can bunk out in one of our 12 rustic log cabins, falling asleep to the sounds of rustling trees and gently rolling waves.  We serve meals family style in our spacious dining hall.  Our menu has many camp favorites! Vegan, vegetarian, and other dietary/special needs can be accommodated..

Our Environmental Education program is designed to be cost effective and save schools as much as possible in a time when budgets seem to shrink without end.  Our fee is on a per-student basis, with a minimum of just 40 students needed to constitute a group.  These fees include the cost of meals, snacks, and lodging.  Chaperones are half price per person and be sure to ask about the other discounts that help schools save on their trip!
